VSC Planning and Programming Committee

The Viterbi Student Council Planning and Programming Committee (PPC) develops and implements events for undergraduate engineers at USC. These include professional, social and community service activities that help engineering students get involved outside the classroom and build an engineering community. In order to successfully do so, the PPC is responsible for getting feedback from student organizations and the undergraduate engineering student body.

The Planning and Programming Committee consists of five undergraduate engineers with various interests and diverse campus involvement. The VSC Vice Chair serves as the Committee’s Chair and is responsible for scheduling and overseeing PPC meetings. He/She also assures that the Committee produces quality programs and events for undergraduate engineers in coordination with Viterbi Student Council organizations.

The PPC is responsible for:

  • Planning events for the whole undergraduate engineering student body
  • Event planning specifically geared towards underclassmen to maintain their interest in engineering and promote their involvement outside the classroom
  • Helping to plan a successful E-Week and the Viterbi Ball
  • Promoting engineering events not only in the Viterbi School, but also throughout USC Campus
  • Effectively advertising events planned by VSC and its member organizations to increase participation
  • Gathering student feedback regarding events, involvement, and interests

Examples of what PPC has done in the past:

  • Viterbi's Got Talent (Engineering Talent Show)
  • A successful Viterbi E-Week in coordination with VSC organizations, including free shirts, raffles, barbeques and the Viterbi Ball as its highlight
