| Engineering Graduate Student in Liaison |

Farhang Shafigh
I am a current MS candidate in the Industrial and Systems Engineering program. My student life experience at USC has provided me with the opportunity to become more attuned to the Trojan community. Last year I was involved in different USC organizations. I was an active member of USC’s Iranian Graduate Student Association (IGSA); I volunteered in “Engage,” which is USC’s Occupational Therapy House philanthropy that engages local youth in positive activities. I feel that I exemplify someone who has taken advantage of my university surroundings. One of my goals as the VGSL is to encourage engineering students at USC to pursue opportunities that foster growth and enhance professional skills.
I will serve as a resource for my fellow engineer students with problems or complaints about any aspects of graduate life. I will also provide a channel of communication between the Viterbi students and the USC administration and assist you in case you face challenges with university faculty or the administration office. I hope we can build a good relationship with each other and find ways to have a prosperous graduate experience.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at: egsl@usc.edu. I will set up a meeting as soon as I receive your request to address any of your concerns.
