To post events onto http://viterbi.usc.edu/news/events/, please follow the format below. Email the details to vgsacomm@gmail.com. Event details not following this format or any required fields missing will not be posted. ALL EVENT DETAILS MUST BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST ONE WEEK BEFORE EVENT DATE.

To delete event, please email the event details in format below and specify that you want the event deleted. To modify your event, please email the modified event details in format below and specify that you want the event modified.

Description (optional): The event description is treated as HTML (note however that the system may strip out some or all of your tags). You can if desired cut-and-paste the contents of an entire file. Entered URLs and email addresses will automatically be translated into hypertext links. The event Description may be up to 10000 characters long. Descriptions that are longer will be truncated.

 
Digital Signage
The VSoE Digital Signage System(DSS) consists of approximately 20 40" LCD screen installed in Ronald Tutor Hall. The system is comprised of two key systems. The first is AxisTV which is broadcast to sixteen of these screens. The remaining four screens are interactive SmartBoards. Email JPG or GIF file(s) to surbhi@usc.edu. ALL EVENT DETAILS MUST BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST ONE WEEK BEFORE EVENT DATE.

NOTE: events on the VSoE Common Calendar are automatically posted to the system.
  • Always include a start and approximate end time. If you do not include the times, some systems will not accept your events, namely the screens in RTH require a valid start and end time.
  • Always be sure to include a location or a URL for more information so people can find your event.
  • Be as descriptive and concise as possible with your event titles. Many of the systems only display the event title and if you say "Seminar Today" that does not really give the viewer a reason to go or learn more about your event. If you said: "EE Seminar on Microprocessors by Dr. xyz" then it tells people right away what the event is and why they would want to attend.


The two areas open for ads are the RTH-Cafe Banner space(1280x228) and the VSoE Ads space(640x238). Ads can be JPG, GIF, or plain text. We recommend a clean JPG or GIF file. Below are schematics of the two screen layouts so you can see where the available space is located on the screen.
